tattoosday

Nature inspired

I love love love this tree arm sleeve

in other news I saw this thing on pinterest to make your own temporary tattoos.
check it out it, I want to try it!
link, here

mani monday

Ive seen this picture all over tumblr and pinterest
I tried to do the chevron once before but it turned out terribly!
about a week ago i found myself looking at the dainty squids blog
her nail art game is ON POINT.
she showed me something I would have never thought of
CRAFT SCISSORS
her tutorial here

so I saw the picture above on a friends pinterest and thought OMG I can finally DO THIS!
colors are
Orly-Beach Cruiser
Nails Inc-chelsea embankment (best glitter polish ever, isn't like the other that are more polish than glitter. it comes out how to looks on my nail I normally only use ONE coat! sold at Sephora)
Nina Ultra Pro-Black (such an orignal name)
&Spoiled by wet & wild- Correction Tape
(by the way I really love this spoiled nail polish, its shiny most of the time I dont use a top coat, it dries really fast, and the red one is a really great color oh and its like 2 bucks!)

so I painted them all and LET THEM DRY (seriously)
so I did the left hand by cutting the clear tape and putting it on my nail but when I ripped the tape off it ruined the straight lines

so for my right hand I decided to paint the tape first,

then cut it and place it on the nail
WORKED WAYYYYY BETTER.

What do you think of the craft scissor idea?
if you try it let me see!

monday

This morning I woke up with a sore throat, feeling all groggy and just not happy that I was up at 6 am.
after I went to the Doc I went to Michaels to buy some stuff for a day of crafting!
Ive seen all these DIY tutorials on pinterest to make your shoes sparkly!
After deep cleaning my house yesterday
and being able to see all the shoes I own stashed away in the back on my closet, I saw these ankle brown boots that I've never worn...

so I thought hey maybe I would wear them more if they were
SPARKLY!

New boots!

I made these by poring half a cup of mod podge
and a quarter of glitter
(you dont want there to be more glitter than mod podge.)
if you buy the GLOSSY mod podge it will create that shine on what ever you use it on.
it dries pretty fast and I did about 4 coats because I didn't want to see the dark brown underneath

what do you think of the glitter boots, what shoes would you glitter?

sunday

I havent blogged in ages, I promised myself to start up again once the school year started here I am.
Sundays post is my time to reflect on the week I've had so Ive been thinking about it.
I started off my week in Chicago, after all summer there and ending with my cousins wedding downtown.
Ive been back in Arizona for a week now and its nice to be back, I miss the green trees that line the streets of chicago, cuddling with my doggy at night, and staying up late with my mom watching trashy TV.
I notice myself sometimes going to a negative mindset and thinking why am I even in Tucson, Im taking my classes online I could be back in Chicago enjoying the weather and the soon changes in the leaves but Im here in 100+ degree weather but when I catch myself doing that I like to look around at the beauty of my surroundings.
here are some of my instagram pictures from the past week.
I was so intrigued by the beauty of what I saw, I felt the need to whip out my phone and take a picture.

view from my cousins wedding

the sky at 7 am driving to the airport
airplanes trip me out when I really think about them, at any time any day we can hop on a plane and go on an adventure

above the clouds

my first stop when I got home.
Sparkroot, I love you so
and your amazingly nice baristas
squeaky chairs
and yummy iced tea.

there are very few things I love more that monsoon season, warm rainy days

beautiful sky

beautiful sky again

and again

it does have a way of growing on you

bar art

local music, good nights.
my mom always tells me you can meet new people sitting on your couch.
last night I was in the mood to watch netflix and crochet in bed but I dragged myself out and Im glad I did, I met new people, was introduced to really amazing music.

that is my week, and it was a good one.

sunday is my lazy day. relaxing in bed, cleaning my house and FINALLY unpacking from chicago (oops), working on my crochet projects, real housewives of new jersey, and nail painting :)
