pom pom rug

I saw this pom pom rug on pinterest and pinned it in my MAKE THIS board along with the 10000000 other crafts I want to make.
Since I already have a HUGE yarn collection and I had this rug liner that I could cut and use as the perfect piece to make this project on my days while I'm snowed in my apartment on the -3 degree Chicago days.

coconutty

ladies, if you don't already know about coconut oil.

NOW YA DO

Im sure you seen posts about it on pinterest. but for realzies
its all true

Wednesday nights are normally for comedy night and cider at the bar
but tonight I decided to stay in, make yarn crafts, and treat my self (in donna and tom voice)
So tonight I made an amazeballs body scrub that I have to share with you as I cant stop touching my legs because they are so damn soft!

I only had half a jar of coconut oil,
as much brown sugar as I wanted
and I squeezed half a lemon in to the mix

stir, apply to body and SCRUB

coconut oil is also really good for your hurrs, try it!
it makes your hair soft and shiny.

monday

This morning I woke up with a sore throat, feeling all groggy and just not happy that I was up at 6 am.
after I went to the Doc I went to Michaels to buy some stuff for a day of crafting!
Ive seen all these DIY tutorials on pinterest to make your shoes sparkly!
After deep cleaning my house yesterday
and being able to see all the shoes I own stashed away in the back on my closet, I saw these ankle brown boots that I've never worn...

so I thought hey maybe I would wear them more if they were
SPARKLY!

New boots!

I made these by poring half a cup of mod podge
and a quarter of glitter
(you dont want there to be more glitter than mod podge.)
if you buy the GLOSSY mod podge it will create that shine on what ever you use it on.
it dries pretty fast and I did about 4 coats because I didn't want to see the dark brown underneath

what do you think of the glitter boots, what shoes would you glitter?

oh and...

I finally made a cupcake hat!
its red velvet!

I really like it the yarn I used is kinda too firm, I need a floppier yarn that will make the hat look slouchier.

easter nailzz

easter nails
idea and picture tutorial from tinytangerines

I did mine a little different, used a toothpick to make a little heart nose
and the little black eyes.
hers has way more detail but I went for a simpler look.

diy can candle holder

probably one of the easiest crafts ever.
take an empty can.
wash it
fill it with water and freeze overnight

use a hammer and nail to make a design on the can
run it under hot water to melt the ice

spray paint if you want
put a candle in and done!

really easy and looks pretty in a dark room.

( in the leather section at Michaels)
I wrapped it in this beige red heart yarn

things I must do in chicago

51 days till I go to Chicago for the summer.

must must must do these crafts with my mama when I get there.
would be so perfect on my moms stoop

I remember once my cousin bought one of these and it was like 40 bucks or something crazy.
these would look so cute on the back stairs at night!

heidi braid tutorial

My old roommate Kasie and her new roommate Mallory do these youtube videos.
Tutorials, talking about stuff they buy, and drinking wine and cooking in the kitchen (possibly my favorite one, the swearing bleeped out was my favorite part)
anyways.
They put up this video for how to do heidi braids for long and short hair. I have tried to do them a few times but I was doing the overlapping part all wrong. But now I know and it was soooo easy LITERALLY took 5 minutes.

I also have to say I've always done the same boring down hair style and just havent been good at making my hair all snazzy but now I'm learning how easy it is and its fun to do different things.

sexified

saw this amazeballs manicure on my friend kasies pinterest, I went to the source. I have the Sally Hansen leopard stickers at home and a GREAT red. I am so doing this when I get home from my 3 hour class.

my version of the nails

I reaaaaaally like them, I painted then red with my new favorite red, the brand is spoiled by wet and wild  it was like 2 bucks but I like it better than any essie or OPI red, it dries fast and it has a shine to it already no top coat needed! then I cut the rounded edges of my Sally Hansen leopard stickers. the edges went on to my fingers and I just used my nails to act as scissors to make it look nice around the cuticles.

mmmm cake!

I've always wanted a cake plate but I havent been able to find one that I love, so I decided to make one.
all I needed was a candle stick, a plate, spray paint and hot glue.

I'm not going to use it for cakes but to hold my crochet cupcake, rings and other little cute things :)
